Recently, we installed the OPTIsaw SD 500AV double-mitre metal band saw for one of our customers. This heavy-duty industrial band saw from the renowned Optimum brand is designed for precision metal cutting in demanding workshop and industrial environments.
The OPTIsaw SD 500AV is a semi-automatic metal band saw equipped with a Siemens inverter (Vario drive), offering versatile operation for both trade and industrial applications. With a cutting capacity of up to 490 mm, it is suitable for a wide range of metal profiles and solid materials.

With the correct blade selection and setup, the OPTIsaw SD 500AV is capable of cutting demanding materials such as titanium with high accuracy and reliability.
Selected Band Saw Blade – EBERLE Duoflex MX55
For this installation, we selected the EBERLE Duoflex MX55 band saw blade, specifically designed for very heavy cutting applications, including stainless steel.
Its high-speed steel cutting performance is significantly enhanced by rare alloying elements such as tungsten (Wolfram) and cobalt, making it ideal for tough and abrasive materials.
