Train CNC skills safely — from the classroom to the real machine
The OPTI education training wall is a CNC digital-twin simulation solution powered by Siemens SINUMERIK. Students program, set up and run a true-to-life virtual machine — making mistakes safely, learning faster, with zero scrap and zero downtime.
One CNC machine. A full class. A widening skills gap.
Most colleges and training centres can run only one or two real CNC machines — so students queue, machine time is lost to teaching, and a single setup error can mean costly damage. The OPTI education wall lets every learner train on a realistic Siemens digital twin — at the same time, without risk.
The challenge
Limited machines, high running costs, real risk of collisions and scrap, and learners who can't all get enough hands-on time.
The digital twin
A true-to-life virtual copy of a real CNC machine — geometry, tools, fixtures, control system and behaviour — to simulate, test and optimise programs safely.
The outcome
Faster learning, more students trained per cohort, better troubleshooting, and graduates ready for Industry 4.0 manufacturing.

Why educators choose the OPTI education wall
An innovative, effective solution for training students in machine operation and programming — and for preparing them for the demands of the labour market.
Risk-free training
Students learn and make mistakes safely — no damage to real machines, no scrap, no collisions.
Faster learning
Reduced setup and training time gets learners and operators productive sooner.
Train more at once
Several students can be trained simultaneously, increasing teaching efficiency.
Real control, real skills
The original SINUMERIK Operate HMI means a seamless transition from virtual to the real machine.
Better troubleshooting
Diagnose NC-program faults with realistic feedback — reducing downtime later in production.
Endless scenarios
Simulate different machines, controls and applications on one wall — turning and milling.
Quality & efficiency
Improved production quality plus predictive-maintenance planning skills.
Sustainable & Industry 4.0
More sustainable use of energy and resources, with full support for Industry 4.0 processes.
How the digital twin works
A digital twin is a virtual representation of a real CNC machine, system or process — reflecting its geometry, tools, fixtures, control system, parameters, behaviour and performance.
1 · CAD
Design the part in CAD — the digital model of the product.
2 · CAM
Generate tool paths and the NC program offline using computer-aided manufacturing.
3 · Digital twin
Run the program on the SINUMERIK digital twin (Run My Virtual Machine 3D) — verify motion, fixtures and tools; detect collisions before they happen.
4 · Real machine
Transfer verified, optimised programs to the real machine with confidence — bridging classroom to shop floor.
Technical specifications
The OPTI education machine door replicates a real CNC machine's operator station on a mobile stand — ready to roll between classrooms and labs.
